Welcome to Clare Holland House
Clare Holland House is the key provider of specialist palliative care across the ACT and surrounding region. A service of The Sisters of the Little Company of Mary-Calvary Health Care, since 1995, and publicly funded by the ACT Government, Clare Holland House is a modern palliative care service providing quality end of life care.
The provision of End of Life Care at Clare Holland House is guided by Calvary’s values of hospitality, healing, stewardship and respect. People of all backgrounds, faiths, social and economic circumstances will receive quality care.
Operating as part of Calvary Hospital and managed by Calvary Health Care ACT, Clare Holland House is an affiliated Health Organisation under the auspices of the ACT Government.
Palliative Care Services
Clare Holland House is a short term facility offering specialist palliative care. This includes the provision of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary palliative care service that collaborates with general practice and community nursing to achieve quality end of life care. A consultation service is provided to Calvary Hospital, The Canberra Hospital, Calvary John James Hospital and the National Capital Private Hospital.
Patients and carers are supported by:
- A 19-bed inpatient unit
- A 24 hour home based service
- and outpatient appointments at Clare Holland House
The Interdisciplinary Team
The interdisciplinary team is a key concept in palliative care. Our approach to care is holistic and comprehensive. It requires the contribution from practitioners in many disciplines who integrate their unique skills as a team in such a way as to deliver flexible and creative care - the best possible care for the patient and their family.
