PEPA

PEPA is a Program of Experience in a Palliative Approach (PEPA). PEPA aims to improve the quality and accessibility of palliative care services to people with life limiting conditions and their families.

What is the palliative approach?
A palliative approach is an approach linked to palliative care and used by primary health care providers to improve quality of life for people with a life limiting illness. It considers death and dying as an integral part of life.

PEPA provides a broad range of health care professionals the opportunity to increase their experience, knowledge and skills in the delivery of the palliative approach.

In the ACT this is achieved through supervised clinical placements, workshops and post placement support.

Supervised clinical placements
No supervised clinical placements currently available.

PEPA palliative approach workshops
Workshops give participants an overview of the palliative approach and how it can be incorporated into their own roles. Workshops are designed for allied health professionals and nurses (with limited/no palliative care experience). In the Aged Care Sector AIN's have found this an extremely helpful workshop.
